I highly recommend staying away from this hotel. I had no intention of writing a negative review but I have never been treated worse at a hotel in my life. My family and I were traveling to Port Clinton for my brother's wedding. He had selected this hotel almost a year in advance due to its proximity to the wedding venue and gifted the hotel with many block room reservations. You can imagine my horror and surprise when we arrived close to 11pm to find a note on the front counter saying the water would be completely shut off the next day (see attached photo). I was in disbelief and didn't know what to say. There we no Ubers or taxis around that late, no other hotels to check into, and the rest of my entire family and extended family would be checking in the next day. To make matters worse, we were never given a single notification of this trip-altering catastrophe ahead of time. Not one email, phone call, or text. We had no choice but to check in and hope for the best. The next day the water was off over an hour longer than was originally planned. The bride and groom had to get ready off site. The entire purpose of a hotel is to provide basic needs you would usually get at home. I thought this problem would be easily rectified but when we requested reimbursement for simply one night, we were told that we had the option to not check in and go elsewhere. As I said before, this was not feasible and not possible at the time. It is a poor excuse so they don't have to refund any money. As a manager you do not make your hotel's problem your guests' problem. The hotel and its management failed miserably at showing even the most basic level of compassion. In addition to the fact we were not reimbursed, I showed every courtesy to Alicia, the general manager, and received none in return. I kindly emailed her and her assistant general manager, Sylvia, and received no response for a week. I followed up the email and still no response. I had to eventually call them and that's when they explained their position. If you have another choice please do not subject yourself to this poor hotel and instead choose another location.

Location was the main thing we wanted. Right on the lake. There was plenty of seating so people could spread out. Very enjoyable sitting and watching the waves roll in, boats going by, and seagulls and geese galore. Our room was very nice.

Yes. Our king size room only had one chair. Two would have made a big difference in our comfort level. One of us had to sit on the edge of the bed and it wasn¿t comfortable at all. Other than that it was great.

The room was spacious and clean. Due to staff shortages we did need to ask for all bath linens; there were none in the bathroom upon arrival, but we went to the lobby desk and were immediately supplied with what was needed. The pool was small, but made our kids quite happy. The lake view does not disappoint. You truly look right out on the lake and have the ability to sit in a courtyard overlooking the lake. The rooms are pricey; like metropolitan city pricey, but it does offer the ability to stay for one night only which is not an easy find in summer in the area.

This was by far the best hotel in the area. Very clean. Friendly staff. Great breakfast options with coffee available all day. The workout facility was top notch. The pool was very clean and included a handicap lift 👏👏👏. The rooms were amazing, with top of the line window blinds and pillows and bedding. The restroom was gorgeous and looked like a 5 star hotel. The rear water view was the best. We watched the sun set with several other guests. It was a wonderful experience.

Stayed the weekend to visit Put-In-Bay for our first wedding anniversary. Arrived late Friday and we were whooped. We had to wait about 10 minutes and call to get someone at the front desk to check in (we noted late check-in on our reservation). Unfortunately the whole first night was wasted as it was miserable hot all night. After no sleep, by 4am I had enough. I went to investigate and found that the a/c wasn't working because the filters were absolutely clogged. To make it worse, you could see a finger print in the dirt, so someone knew it was dirty. Talked to the front desk and simply was told maintenance would be notified. No sleep and definitely a terrible start to what should have been a good weekend. Shower was clear glass and dirty on the seals. The door wouldn't stay closed so water would get all over the floor. Shower head was crusty. Very off-putting. No hand soap, which was odd. Breakfast was okay on Saturday. Sunday it was lackluster and missing bacon. Coffee was hot but pretty so-so. The pool was a huge factor in why we chose to stay here. It was only 4 1/2 feet deep, so small you couldn't swim, and highly chlorinated. We got in to try and just cool off and immediately got out. So gross. We requested extra towels in advance. We didn't get them and had to request them two days in a row. Both times being told they were almost out of towels. No housekeeping for the stay, which was annoying. We had trash just overflowing. They should either offer trash clean out or larger can. The only saving grace was the lake view on the back patio, where we ate breakfast. We've stayed in other Marriott hotels and the atmosphere was always welcoming and friendly but the attitude here was staunch and uninviting. We would not recommend and would not stay again. Overall, pretty sub-par for what we expected with a Marriott stay.

Our son was married in Port Clinton on October 20th, 2023. He and his fiance chose this hotel for all out of town guests including his closest family and friends. They reserved a block of rooms for their wedding a year in advance. When we arrived at the front desk to check in, we were told that there was a scheduled water pipe repair happening and that there would be NO running water whatsoever for the entire day and most likely the evening . Keep in mind this was not an emergency, but something scheduled. There was NO attempt whatsoever to contact us or ANY of the many guests checking in for the festivities by phone, text or email. Upon arrival we naturally all needed to prepare for the evening by showering or at the very least cleaning up for the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. The front desk staff basically told us "Tough luck ", and we should go somewhere else. Our two other sons had Ubered to the hotel after flying in from LA, and DC., and were tired from their journeys. None of us were familiar with the area and the Rehearsal was just a few hours from commencing. Water was eventually restored later in the evening, but AFTER we were already at the wedding rehearsal ,.....unshowered, uncomfortable and feeling unclean to say the least. If this is not a sad enough state of affairs...please keep reading. When we inquired with the General Manager "Alicia" for a refund or partial refund JUST for that day,....the answer was a resounding "NO". In my experience, when staying in a hotel, you can possibly expect a less than clean room, or maybe too much noise from the adjacent room, but I think it's safe to assume that you will have RUNNING WATER, of any kind. I have never in my entire life had anything so ludicrous happen, and the level of unprofessionalism from the staff and management was off the charts. They singlehandedly and carelessly ruined for us, the beginning of what was supposed to be a joyous once in a lifetime event. Please stear clear of this establishment.

We went mid June. Apparently this is during “May Fly Season”. These bugs were EVERYWHERE outside the hotel. This put a bit of a damper on our vacation because everywhere you walked they were there. Millions… besides that, the hotel room was very nice, we overlooked the lake, location was very close to things. The continental breakfast was nice but nothing amazing. Your typical stuff. They also have a small indoor pool that goes about 5 ft deep. I was a bit bummed that there wasn’t more outside seating to enjoy a fire pit or something. That being said, with all the bugs it wouldn’t have been enjoyable. Apparently this is the time of year and they are usually gone in a few weeks.
